Color feeding for yellows

Hi all, I'll be getting in some Yellow Crystals Sunday and want to know if there are any color enhancing foods for yellow fish. They are white faced so if it would effect the white I probably shouldn't use it.(?) Also, I know not to use Tetra bits as I don't want them to turn orange but does anyone know if O.N. #s 1 & 2 flakes have too much red enhancer in them to use on yellows? Or any others to be avoided? From experience, Tetra Color Bits will turn a yellow discus yellow-orange.

The rule of thumb I use is if it looks like it has red/orange pigment in it. Then i would not feed it....

And yes I will turn yellow fish into orange.

If you make your own BH I have heard that marigold is a good color enhancer to add for yellow colors. I have never tried it myself.

::) Kacey, I'm using Hai Feng medium sinking bits. There are 2, one is for red fish, the other for blue. I feed the blue bits to the yellow fish, & so far they are a bright gold color on the body with orange bordering the fins. I do use the H. frozen BWs at night for treat, JME Dottie ;D

onf1 does have some colour enhancer in it..but not as much as tetrabits. i know a guy who uses tetrabits on his goldens..and..he has very nice orange fishies. also..his whites turned into goldens. ;D

Thanks eveyone for your advice and experiences. Do you think BW's will add an orange tint? I really want to avoid ANY red/orange influence as these guys are not orange at all. I currently use BW's, TetreBits and O.N. 1 flakes pretty heavily with my RT's, Sp.Erupts and leps so I'll have to do some seriouse rethinking on their diet if all 3 are out. I suppose I could double up on feedings of BH, Frzn BS, and O.N. 2. Any suggestions? Kacey

Try using Yellow Canary bird food this will color them up another food is black brine shrimp flakes this is good for
gold color.

Bird Food? What is it made out of that you can feed it to fish? First time someone suggested morning glory petals I thought they were joking. But since then others have suggested same but no one has givin amounts or preparation tips so...! Thanx, Kacey
