Hi all,
Just an interesting bit of info here.. Ebo's california plant has been closed. They are only making them in Germany now for world distribution. Maybe this change will help turn things around for this heater.

I have a few I am getting for my tanks to try out ..Hopefully they are what they used to be. :) I'll let you know :)

I think I saw some Ebo heaters at my LFS that also carried an Eheim label. That would make sense being manufactured in Germany.

I don't remember what company is now making them, but there are other heaters just called "jaeger" (sp?), and I haven't heard a good think about them. The owner of one of our LFSs knew a guy that bought some, and ended up sending a lot of that shipment back because they didn't work.

I sure did like these heater when they were green and worked. I was going thru mine today for the winter and threw out 4 black ones that failed to come on. I still have green ones working for over 10 years. They were a good heater manufacture that went bad for some odd reason.

I was told its just a buy-out, Eheim is growing and adding new divisions, they still make the green ones except they are pre-set and only available in 220v.

>:( the 3 best heaters I own 1. green ebo's(no longer made in 110v, 2. Hydor Hydrosafe(no longer made) 3. Sicci Scubas (way to expensive to import)

My new fishroom is going to be heated to 84 and heat recovery ventilated, I'm only going to use heaters when raising fry and medicating/heat treating.

Hi ,

got my ebos...They are eheim made now. They have changed the design a little. Still looks the same... but the temp adjustment moves very easily now... amd the material inside them looks"different" ..so far so good...working well. BTW..They carry a 3 year warranty...

Hopefully I don't wind up cooking or chilling a tank of fishes. I'm thinking of getting a temp alarm on the tanks I am trying these.

I remember when I first joined this forum and displayed photos of my aquarium, someone offering to buy my two old school green Ebos. I thought they were teasing...picking on the color of them. Now I know what gems they are.
