I'm so proud of this pair. I forced this pair several weeks ago. The first spawn they ate and the second is a success. The male is a Tomato Red and the female is a Red Turq.

Another forced pair. The male did not like her at first but they've had 3 successful spawn now. This is one of my favorite. The light on 24/7 makes them more yellow and the black around the fins fades.

Once You know Your Good Males from the Mules! Force pairing works 90% of the time. Its easy to repalce or find females that are willing to lay eggs but to find a potent fry raiseing male is another story.

Also Males will last for as long as 8 years IME and females tend to burn out around 3
