Anyone tried those new inline thermal heaters ?? I'm thinking of using one or two plumbed into the freshwater feed line for a drip system... by the time the pipe gets to the hatchery side of the room it's about a 25 foot run, in the basement... don't want cold water constantly dripping in and keeping the tank heaters running. Drs foster/smith used to advertise it as verticle or horizontal mount, now, they've changed it to vertical only ???

Any thoughts, or experiences with these things?

Whats wrong with just having tank heaters pick up the load? Both are electric so there is no operating economic difference.

Aggie, nothings wrong with using the tank heaters.. in fact, it would be less electricity.. just don't want too great a temp differential between the water in the tank and what's coming in.. picked up some pipe insulation so going to try that first.. hopefully that and the heat of the fishroom itself will keep things even enough..
