im planning to buy a 2 stage water filter (w/out the RO membrane)..because it is cheaper & has better water pressure..

I plan to user sediment filter & activated carbon as my filter media.

My question is..will be my water safe from chlorine??

Please help!

Thanks

The carbon filter should remove the chlorine.

YOu will have to change the carbon insert or filter as it only lasts so long.
That depends on the insert and how good it is.
I used to use one and it had rcommendations based on how many gallons went through it. I always changed it sooner than the recommendations

Migs,
I'd personally get a 3 Stage (1x Sediment, 2x Carbon) You'll get better results and save $$ in the long run. Get one with 3/4" Fittings, a 10 Micron Sediment filter (If you are on municipal tapwater) and 2x 5 Micron Carbon filters. Also, don't compare a Carbon Filter's "cheaper and Better water pressure" to an RO unit, you are comparing apples and oranges. RO units do a specific job: Removing Ionic content from Tap Water. Your filter is for removing Chlorine and some heavy metals.
