Hi John,

The best thing for your tank is to have stable water parameters without adding chemicals. What is the pH in your tank, and what is it directly from you tap after standing for 24 hours? With your carbonate hardness that low you want to avoid a pH crash. One of the first things to consider would be to significantly increase the flow of oxygen through the use of airstones to lower your CO2.
