Hi, have you treated with any meds? Is the fish eating?

Yes I have treated with Prazi and Metro. The fish is eating and isn't hiding or head standing. So I don't think that it is Hex but the white thing coming out just doesn't look like tapeworm to me.

I would say tape worm. I'm sure the fish would be off of its food if that was hex.

. . . and sometimes they eat really good, swim in the middle of the tank and shed their intestinal lining. If you see funny poop now and then don't worry about it. If you see it every day and the fish is acting sick then treat.

Do the squish test to see if it's a worm. You can tell the difference between mucus and worms by squishing them between your fingers. Worms are solid - mucus isn't.

ps. If you treated with metro and did not raise temp it doesn't do much good.
