Maybe everyones caught up on domestic imports,,

I ve never actually owned a wild caught discus even though i wanted to get some and came close so many times but those darn colorful domestic imports always win my money at the end..

Hector,
You are correct in most instances about color intensities...although I was quite surprized when a relative with zero knowledge about the round fish asked if this wild blue was my best....I have 15 strains of domestic bred in different tanks also to pick from.
BTW, yes, there are some fry in the head area.
Something about 'em

Hi all, this is the only wild that I have and I am amazed by him/her. hope you enjoy. By the way does anybody know what type of wild this is?

Jeff speaking of the "Wildmeister" :D ,
Recieved these Alenquers from Al yesterday. They are acclimating well to their new surroundings and are in quarantine for the next 10 weeks. Color is excellent and I couldnt be happier.
"Thanks Al for the great wilds"

Tad,
Nothing new and still no luck in the breeding department. I have recently become interested in plecos and rays but still enjoy my discus.
Here are a couple of the Inanu I've been keeping for the past 2 years:

Proof yet again, that he says they're for me, so he can justify (in his mind, anyway) not getting me anything for Christmas again this year!

Ramon... great pics of some gorgeous fish!!

If it's like my house, fish always cost twice their price! Whatever I spend, there is usually an off-setting purchase that shows up on my wife's next month's credit card statement! Oh, well, the fish are worth it and so is she.

Cary,

You're right! Your wife is worth it, and so am I!! I guess instead of monthly visits to the massage therapist, I'll be going weekly for a while! :D Or maybe that Blue Indian Ringneck Parrot I've been eyeing will mysteriously appear. :D :D Or maybe both! :D :D :D

No one really knows for sure on the growth rate in the wild..I suspect its identical or better than domestics and largely determined by the the environment and food availibility. My guess.. 1-2 years given a good food supply.

I recently had a bunch of 2-3 inch wild browns that I kept a few months to see how they would grow.... They blew away any domestic strain I have ever kept as far as growth when given the same food regime... Thats just my isolated, undocumented opinion based on what I Saw. It may have just been that particular group of fish.

Alberto,
Good to see you my good friend :) , Wilds are now part of our Xmas's , We started this new annual tradition last year with our acquisition of RSGs from you. The new Reds from Al will give us that Christmas balance of color with the Greens (RSGs) and Red (Alenquer) :)
