fishless cycle

Hi,

Well finally I moved into my new home. Tank is up and I am really excited about getting it up and running. I am at the cycling stage. I got Americas Choice Clear Ammonia from local supermarket. The ingredients say just "soft water and ammonia". However when I do the shake test there was a small amount of suds or probably more appropriately bubbles formed at top of the bottle....is this the wrong ammonia?

Don’t want to add anything that will set me back further...

As I get it ready I will post pics......yipee....

I have been away from Discus for almost a year now....cant wait to set up my show tank again....

Do the bubbles rapidly go away; 1,2,3,gone? Or do the bubbles stay?

Probably you have the right stuff, as it says water and ammonia.

just be careful when adding, very easy to add too much (as I found out :( ) Add a small amount, wait a few minutes then test, and add more if needed.. when I started my first fishless cycle the ammonia reading was way off the chart..lol Did a WC to dilute it though and everything worked out fine
