Tank Hierarchy

I had 6 adults in a 75 gallon tank. Recently, the largest fish suddenly got pop eye I died. Since that time, the Gold Diamond has been very aggressive attacking all of the other fish and in particular a Pigeon Blood. I'm assuming this is to re-establish the pecking order. How long can I expect this behavior to last?

Some fish are jerks and if left in charge will always keep the tank stirred up. Put in a divider, put ion a larger fish (if you have one) or remove the bully
