Brown Algea

I've been seeing a lot of threads lately about brown algea, so thought I'd share an observation...

All of my tanks have 50/50 bulbs, except the new 55 which has the original All Glass bulbs and my daughters hex that has the original Oceanic bulb. I get next to no algea growth in the tanks with the 50/50 bulbs regardless of the length of time they're left on, but, on the tanks with the original bulbs.. algea is a huge problem.... particularly brown algea...

well cosmo sounds lik u have something there it mite be worth doing ferther tests . shout i think i mite try it see what happens . that was a good observation never would have thought that 50\50 light would slow or stop brown algea.what brand bulbs do u use?
