Hi Kevin, are you adding the meth blue to prevent fungus on eggs? I usually use a turkey baster and squirt undiluted meth blue directly on the eggs, then add one drop/ 2 gals OR 1 drop of formaldehyde37% per gallon.

MB is relatively nontoxic to fish so OD'ing them is not really a problem. Several drops per gallon is normally used.

Not what I use Shin Shin. 1 drop/ 2 gals works for me and I'd rather not add more than what I need. Some claim it harms the biofilter.

Hi,
I wonder whether we could substitute MB with agriflavine (yellow lotion). I used it to prevent fungus to angels' eggs before. It worked. Can it be applied to discus egg?

Okay, Barb....
1 or 2 drops per gallon ought to be used...
...unless you want to use 3.

Yes. This is why if you have a full bacteria colony thriving in your filter, it's best to pull it before applying the dosage to avoid polluting the tank. The other option is to just start over with a new filter and keeping up on water changes.
