I prefer to see the dirt I need to clean, so am not into fancy filtration....but recently purchased a 360gal tank....I want to run just sponge filters on it. Stats say 3 hydro 5's would do it.........but am open to suggestions?

Robin, Where the heck do you find a 360 gl. ?? I have a 140 with a sump that has a commercial Marineland #1 biowheel. I was fortunate enough to buy it from a LFS. He had 6 and only needed 5. Since the bulkheads are in the top corners of the tank I also have a fluval 4 on the inside of the tank to mechanically keep the water clean. Two Hydo V sponges would probably be better. I also have two huge pieces of drift wood in there which keeps the water a tea color. Fish love it. Heaters I keep in the sump.

PS.....I used to build my own bird cages when I was into breeding parrots. I've decided to try with acrylic tanks after we move. (There is no room here) Fiance has even designed a "dip-method" apparatus for me for the sealing. I've reached the point where I stock my tanks almost as soon as I receive them....
I figure it could be fun...:) It would definately save me a lot of time searching ebay for tanks close enough for me to pick up:)
