Have any one ever used discus essentials in streight RO water.

Will it put back all the right minerals and type things back in to the water.

hi Discusboy,

I use it for treatment when the fry freeswimming! Its good stuff that is trace that is vitiamin.

Let me refrase. i would to know if use it in straight ro water if it will make the water safe for discus.

Brad,

Discus Essentials add trace elements, it alone does not re-mineralize or buffer RO water. Two other Kent products do a great job (for me at least)... RO Right for GH and PH Stable for KH. Both are nitrate and phosphate free... BigAl's has the best price on the last two but for some reason doesn't carry the essentials in the 64oz size :confused: thatfishplace.com is good too and they carry the bigger sizes of all three as well.

I use straight RO water and I use both the Discus Essentials and the RO Right and they seem to both work great for me. I have used Discus Essentials for about the last 5 years and have just started using the RO Right.
