sick fish

we went on vacation for 2 days. had someone come in and feed 3 times
while we were gone. the tank and water were in good shape and the fish
looked ok.
but the day after we returned one discus 6 inch four ear old has what looks
like cracked skin about one inch deep that runs the entire body just under the
top fin. the skin is darker and looks like it has cracks in it.
i had the lights off while we were gone and maybe he got upset when i
turned them on and bumped into something.
any ideas on what this is or how to treat?
the other fish seem to be fine and all are eating ok.

If it is just a surface wound, you can treat with Melafix. 1 teaspoon/10 gallons.

i am not sure this is a bump hurt. It looks like small cracks in the skin running the length of the fish just under the top fin. could it be something else??

no, this is on both sides of the fish starting just under the top fin and running the length of the fish. it is about 3/4 inch wide and not even. it looks likea dark area and the skin has small cracks all thru it thalook like what happens
when you crack a hard boiled egg.
This has never shown up on any of my fish in 4 years.
