View Full Version : Whew-hoo... First Discus on the way!

It's been a 10 year hiatus, but I'm finally getting my first shipment of Discus tomorrow from Al @ Rocky Mountain. It's gonna be hard to sleep tonight with visions of little swimming Discus dancing in my head.

I will post pictures in the photo gallery on Sunday after I turn the lights on. Thanks again to everyone who offered advise, cycled sponges, warnings, etc.

I am so excited for you!! Nothing more fun than getting discus in the mail. Al is a really nice and helpful guy who really cares about his fish :)

Received my shipment from Al early this morning. Everyone arrived alive and very healthy looking. All ate bloodworms about 3 hours after getting here. I don't know discus like most of you, but IMO these are beauties. Round bodies, red, clear round eyes, normal gil plates and very colorful. No black bars at all.

Couple of questions...

- Shouldn't they have stress/black bars? I don't see any semblance of these at all on any of these guys.

- One is a Snow White. It has white eyes. Is this normal?

As soon as I can get these guys to pose I'll post pictures in the photo gallery.

There are bars, but I assumed they would be darker due to stress from the shipping.
