Hi Noah,
I think anything you bring into the tank can affect your fish. There's always that potential of bringing umwanted diesease or pest.

When it comes to introducing other fish, I think it should the non-aggressive type where your discus is always the boss in the tank.

I like cardinal tetras, after QT of course.

They are colourful and school so they add movement to the tank. Rummynose are also nice.

Blue Rams are also nice.

Dan is right. It's always a good reminder to be prepared to quarantine any new fish before placing them into your existing set-up.

There are many types of fish that fit in nicely with Discus, provided their requirements are met. I'm a big fan of loaches, and also cardinal tetras.

IMO, Discus make the best tankmates for Discus :D

I have 6 plecos (a Zebra, a golden, a black with yellow spots, 2 leopards, and a common) and 5 dwarf aqfrican frogs. With 2 discus.. Its pretty funny watching them all get comfy in the tank...

Im setting up a discus only tank.. And then getting more zebras to breed... Then another tank and on and on
