Ok, this is weird...
I have about half dozen renegade free swimming fry (been free swimming for about 3 days). They refuse to go near their parents like the rest of the babies. BUT, they seem to be feeding off of these nuisance snails in the tank. Now, they aren't growing at nearly the rate of the others, but they are still alive and seem to be quite active. Any chance of survival you think? I am not holding my breath, but I thought it was interesting behavior. They peck at the snails just as the other fry do the parent fish, and the snails recoil until they finally sink and the fry just move on to another snail.
