No they will cook. Unless you can pull the plug befor they are finished. I had a pair that always picked out the heater, same same. When I covered the heater they went to the cord. Finally laying on cone. Hope I get some wigglers this time. No luck so far.

My young pair liked my Won titanium heater too until they saw a big anubia leaf to spawn on (haven't moved them to their own tank yet). What attraction do discus have with titanium?

Hello,

One of my pairs tried to do the same once.

Moving the heater in an diagonal or even horizontal position, made them to change they site.
Discus usually need vertical objects to spawn, that fit to their movements.

Best regards,

I have a young pair that twice has laid eggs on my heater which is horizontal and actually touching the bottom of tank. She looked rediculus and uncomfortable when laying. She has also layed on the bottom of the tank, seems like anywhere but the breeding cone!

I have had a female lay eggs upside down on the under side of a sponge filter, that really looked funny.
