it is better to add some salt like 1 tablespoon / 10 gallons, continue water changes and redose the amount. Stop the salt. Then observe them. Most possibly they will stop doing.

Try the salt and water changes first. IF no improvement try Parasite Clear sold at Walmart or Formalin sold at pet store

My Altums did that for one day, but stopped soon after water change. Not sure why, but it had something to do with water conditions. It was in quarantine tank, with uncycled filter, a special quarantine measure for the new fish, not for the old stock safety. I was using RO with mineral additives. Not sure if it was because of a change in parameters, to less TDS, or if it was a result of some biofilter activity starting up, or a slight elevation in waste. But it disappeared as fast as it started after a careful large WC using exact amount mineral additives. Had me very worried.

You can use either Kosher Salt or Aquarium Salt for Freshwater.
Try doing a water change (50-70%) and adding the salt (2 tablespoons per 10 gallon) for a few days first. If the conditions continue, go for the medicines suggested by Carol (above).

Instead of buying expensive salt just get some rock salt (like you use for homemade icecream). It will save you money and is the same salt.
