These are Red Leopard SS's from DA MAN Jack (DiscusKC). They're turning out to be nice fish. The strange thing is, they're shaking and picking like they're going to spawn... and they're only 3 1/2".

They're not stunted or anything. I have no explanation...

This is a group of Rose Reds that I'm growing out. The shape on these fish is absolutely amazing. They should turn out to be really nice. This pic was taken in the middle of a feeding frenzy. :p

There's also a couple of Jack and Willie's world famous Mandarin Passions sharing a tank with them. I wish I had a dozen of them. They're absolutely gorgeous. Jack? Are you reading this?? :D :D :D

Hi, Sorry for my english, I have a question for you and for everyone that want to give is opinion.

In the picture of this forum I see that you use air filter (that kind i didn't find in here) are they more good than internal filter or external?what change in the water-change?
I ask this becouse I see your discus in really good condition!

Ryan,

Those fish are looking pretty sweet !!!!

Willie deserves lots of credit on those cobalts. He sure knows how to breed them !!!!
And Ryan Wong for helping us get the LSS.

I hear ya Ryan, we have some MP's with your name all over them !!!!

Those LSS are really starting to develop nice coloration.

Hi teol79,

Welcome to Simply. :D

I run at least two sponge filters in my tanks along with a back-hanging power filter filled with sponge media and ceramic noodles for biological filtration. I keep filtermax III prefilters on all of my powerfilter intakes which are rinsed daily. I do 70% water changes 5-6 times per week on my juveniles and 2-4 times per week on my adults.

I hope that answered your questions.

Sure thing.

The last batch I raised up sold almost instantly... mostly to a couple of local hobbyists. I'm not a huge PB fan but these have been really nice.

Drop me an IM and I'll keep you posted on how they turn out. :)

I can answer that one for you Elcid, as I asked the same question (it's a nice piece of driftwood isn't it?). Ryan H. told me he aquired the wood at http://www.aquariumdriftwood.com . I checked out the site and they have a nice assortment of plants and driftwood. I've never personally ordered from it, but Ryan told me that it's cheap, yet good quality.

It's my favorite tank too. :D

You guys do need to check out that site. They don't really keep driftwood in "inventory" like you would think. Basically, you drop them an email or call them and tell them what you are looking for and the dimensions of your tank and they go out into the swamps of southern Florida and collect a piece that will suit your needs. They then bring it back and clean it thoroughly and then ship it out. I got exactly what I was looking for and I paid about 50 dollars for it. This was the most expensive size driftwood that they sell.

I came home tonight to this. :D

I moved this pair from a community tank into their own 29 just two days ago. I get 100 or so wigglers out of them every week but they would get eaten by the former tankmates. Sorry the pic is so blurry. :o

Red Turq and a Firework from Cliff Young. These two are siblings and were raised from dime-sized fry. They never got very big for me but they have nice coloration and are healthy as horses.

A blue-faced Rose Red.

The pic actually doesn't do this fish justice it's turning out to be very nice. I actually had 6 or 8 of them but somebody came over and bought them all one day. I decided to keep one to see what they turn out like. They are about 10 months old now.

RyanH
03-15-2006, 12:25 AM
A very large female Blue Turquoise. She's close to 7 inches now and is taller than she is long. She and her siblings are just now a year old and I don't believe they are done growing yet. There are 8 of these in this 75 and all are just as beautiful. I've really enjoyed the hell out of them.

RyanH
03-15-2006, 12:29 AM
Another from the same batch. I need to get a group shot of them one of these days. :)
