eating em' as she lays

My Marlboro was spawing the other nite, and as she made a pass the male
was just picking them off and eating them. He made no attempt to spawn.
They have always eaten the eggs, but usually after the both had layed and
fertilized the eggs (or appeared to do it!) maybe an hour or two after. There are other Discus in the tank.
What do you think?

A community tank is not a good idea. Many times the pair will eat the eggs so the other fish can't eat them first. I'd try a different male in a 29 gallon breeder tank

take barbs advise...if he does the same in the 29 then he will probably always do it. make sure to cover the sides and back of the 29 so they can't see other fish.
