I would like to know what everyone else uses to wipe their
tanks down. I am using a wand type thing that has a
semi course green pad on the end. It seems to do a good
job, I was just wondering if there is a better way? A cloth
for heaters and air lines?

:D I use the heavy blue shop paper towels.. buy'm at Sam's. I like the job they do, & they can be rinsed & reused. But they don't do it by themselves, darnnit, & I'm real lazy, so it doesn't get done often enough. I really need some more plecos & I don't care if they're albino or not. Seems the albinos didn't do well for me, so I have the "brown" ones. Dottie :p

I use a good quality Paper towel. If there are any of those small algae spots I use a credit card to get them off.

I have many tanks. It takes me at least 2hrs just to wipe down the glass of each tank. So I don't do it esp. the tall 4' deep tank that I can never touch the bottom. I hire a crew of plecos to do them. Bristlenoses is the best. I just wipe the water line with my fingers once in a while.

I use an algae scraper on a long handle for the bottom and other areas I can't reach (I am vertically challenged). LOL

I also use those reusable cloths called Handi Wipes. I just rinse them with hot water before and after each use. One will last a long time.

I use an old sponge from a hydro-sponge filter....lasts a long time and does a good job...

Haven't had to wipe down the big tank since I got those BN from Plecos R Us. For the hospital tank, Bounty paper towels.

I have a sponge attached to a stick for each tank.

Scotch Brite Dobie cleaning pad. It used for cleaning dishes. It's a small yellow sponge wrapped in a slightly abrasive material that won't scratch glass. Works GREAT!!! You can find it in the section that has dish washing soaps.

I use paper towel and if there are tough algae spots I will use a razor blade.

Plecos and sponge on a stick. The plecos don't leave too much for me to clean.

Sometimes I use papertowels, the magnums (magnets for glass works great) or a sponge on the stick of a long net.

Well....this answers my question....there is no one way or really easy way.
I am not crazy about catfish with the children so I guess I will continue to
just wipe away.
Heck...down here in Loose-E-ana we eat catfish not play with them.
Come to think of it, we eat just about everything :lickin:
Gross but true.
Thank ya'll for the replys.

I have mostly acrylic tanks, so to play safe I buy the acrylic safe cleaning pads... handi wipes might work though .. hmmm
