Hi All,

I am planning on getting 6 juvenile discus and would like to know what kind of processed commercial foods do you recommend for discus? What kind of flakes? and do they eat pellets? In addition to these, ill be feeding them frozen bloodworms and shrimps. Thanx in advance.

Besides other food like bloodworms I feed Color Tetrabits and Formula One Ocean Nutrition flakes.

Good idea to find out what they are currently eating so they are eating as soon as possible then introduce new foods after they are established in tank and use to you.

Mine get Tetra Bits, NLS Discus Formula, beefheart and bloodworms.

As far as your question on pellets... the NLS is a small, slow sinking pellet, and my cobalts attack them as soon as they hit the water.

I like Hikari Discus pellets and any Sera flake or pellet. Seems that they have pretty good ingredients.

I feed primarily NLS Discus formula, with occasional TetraBits and occasional beefheart.
