How many watts for a 38 gal????? Is perfect???

I have a 38 gallon with plants that demand between moderate to high lighting. Which of the following would be an acceptable watt level

2.53 wpg
2.90 wpg
5.05 wpg
using a 36" power compact

or

1.11 wpg
using a 36" T-5

or

2.05 wpg
using a 36" T-5 HO

Any advise would be appricated..... :argue:

Not all light come on at the same time. Stagger them so that full blast only lasts about 4 hours, total about 10 hours. You will get excellent coverage over the while tank.

you'll need at least 3 watts per gallon for that type of plant.
