I am going to be moving into an older house and would like to house all 22 of my med size discus in a bare bottom tank. The water lines in the house are 50 copper and 50 galvanized pipe. Is there any reason to be worried about the galvanized material affecting the water for the fish. The basement is finished and has a cement floor. I was wondering about how much it would cost a month to run a big tank like that. I have a filstar xp3 and a aquaclear 5000..and three 300 watt heaters. Will use regular shop lights for illumination..and keep them on a timer..maybe 5hours a day. Just trying to figure for bugetting reasons..Hope someone can give me a rough estimate for hydro. Thanks.
