I see alot of homemade recipies that call for multi-vitamins....is this really neccesary???...how do you figure out how many vitamin tablets a fish needs???...right now i have 2 bags of food in my freezer...one contains beefheart, shrimp, peas (babyfood), carrots (babyfood), bananas, and baby whole grain cereal....the other is chicken hearts/gizzards, catfish, peaches (baby food), green beans (baby food) and baby barley cereal.....am i meeting the needs of my fish???

I think your recipe looks just fine. Some do add other vitamins, but I don't think it's necessary with a varied diet.

your mix looks fine to me, too. variety is the key. some add liquid baby vites to their mix. a little live food is aways good too.

There's no reason to add vitamins, except to make the hobbyist feel better. That beef heart supported a 4,000 lb animal that produced 10,000 lb of milk annually. Its not short of vitamins and minerals. But if anyone wants to, just get the absolute cheapest ones.
