hello, I have had discus of breeding for only 6 months. I think nevertheless of managing rather well with 5 discus in one 77 gal.. In weekend, I have to buy with my good friend "CHRISS" on this forum, 3 wild green red spotted "with golden eye , i think". I would like to have some councils on the level of the acclimatization being given that it is the first time that I have has to do it. 2 out of 3 eat ox heart with garlic, but the third seems a little constrained... I treat them in one 20 gal. with metrodinazole but I think of having to make another thing... can you speak to me above about your experiment it,
thank you has the advance,
Franco
P.S. I do not speak English very well, then PLEASE, write way has what I include/understand easily.
Thank you has all.

Bigger fish like your RSG may take a week or even two weeks to settle in and start eating. If you just got them last weekend I don't think you need to add metro yet. Daily water changes, salt and temps of 88 may be enough to get all of them eating.

Very nice fish.
Wilds sometimes color up slowly over several months as they acclimate. I think you will be thrilled with how this group looks when they get comfortable!

Hi Franco,
Your fish look very healthy and have thick bodies...so I would guess they have been eating well. Sometimes wilds take a while to get used to heart meat.. .. You may have better luck starting with Hikari Frozen Blood worms. Then try to introduce heart meat.

Also ask the seller what they were fed before... they may be used to eating something else. At this point I would not treat them with metro. It may not be needed. Temperatures of 88-90 F can help as well in getting them to eat.

Hope that helps..

Just my 2 cents here:

3 adult fish in one tank may be the reason 2 out of 3 are eating.....Are the other two the more aggressive fish in your tank? If possible buy 2 more fish and keep good water quality! :)

BTW, ur wilds look GR8, that's TRES BIEN :)

take care,
Sandeep

indeed they are seems well in form... I give them blooworm in small quantity and they eat with appetit. I hope that they will take beautiful colors in some weeks. It would be fantastic if it could form a couple with one of my 5 others discus; can be this one....

Someone on this board, an Aussie fellow I believe crossed a Red Turq with a wild, might have been a Brown, or a Green, the offspring looked great.

On that last photo, what kind of discus is the one in the lower right corner, it is orange with black fins? That might be the kind I have seen for sale recently.
