I have 6 in my tank right now and they are soooo fast and aggressive. I purchased them through another site but these angels are fun to raise. Anyone who has raised domestic angels should try these.

Al

Those are beautiful angels but then so are your lace ones you posted, your discus, rams ..... anything else?

Glad I don't live in the same State or even in the States! Way too easy to purchase and ship down there.:D :D

Thanks for the pics!

That's really high quality, Al. Most of the wild Peruvian imports have been, in my opinion, very inconsistent in quality. Everyone in these pictures look great.

Willie :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Which ones have a more pronounce black stripe. The Altums or the peruvians ?
They are very nice.
I have an extra 75 gallon tank and have been waiting for Cobalt Reds (seto) for almost a year but I do not think I will ever get them and Angels have always been a favorite.

Thanks all,
Roberto, The Scalare tend to have very dark black stripes... the Coloration on the altums tends to be more of a subdued hue...almost like the bars fade into a bronze..., though they can darken up again.

The real difference is the finage.. the scalare have fins like their domestic cousins... , but the altums.. hold their fins very erect and they are considerable larger as adults..

I like them both...I think the Altums have a better schooling behavior..they seem more regal... The scalare are aggressive to one another, from my limited experiences.

I though I was going to see lots of Angels at the ACA . Only saw one .Very Nice but small in size in the show tank section. I can not remember if it was an Altum or a Peruvian.
They are Great Looking.

It was a young Peruvian, I entered it, those big old domestics took all the prizes. I may take an altum this year. Ken

Roberto;

Go with the altums. But you'll need a well planted tank. They are shy.
