I give it a "B", from the ingredient list. "fish meal" , followed by 3 grain ingredients.
Fish meal can mean anything from scales and bone scraps from the disposal of bio-waste, or it can mean whole fish of good nutritive value.
3 types of grain listed next can mean that all together, the 3 grains add up to much more than the first ingredient. If they used just one grain, it would be in such quantity that it became the first ingredient.
Labels can be trickeeeey!
And then we have wheat gluten further down also. sounds cheapo.
But the beta-glucan is thought to be a good immune stimulator.

I prefer to know just what the main ingredient is composed of. Maybe Marineland can supply more details...

I was given a free container of it with the Top Fin tank, and my Discus wouldn't touch the stuff. I believe the protein content was comparable to other Discus foods.

For the most part, my fish don't care for it. The uneaten portion spoils very quickly...

my bottles of it are unopened, they came in grab-bags at auction. they sit with the many Omega One containers (tricky tricky labels). Bio waste reclaimation project Omega (according to Omega's submission for state grant money for bio-waste reclaimation). I don't feel great about passing them on either...unless someone has a snail tank.

My discus will eat BIO Blend but only the small pellets. Thus, I have to separate the pellets so as to not contaminate the tank with the ones they will not touch. Pellets are nice because there is little left over, unlike the dust you get from flakes, which the fish typically cannot find.

Regarding Omega ONE, all I have noticed is that over the last year or two (not really sure when) the protein content "dropped" from 46% to 41%. I noticed this when I recently bought another can, and still had the old one laying around for some reason. The fish seem to still like it but I'd rather feed the higher level of protein. Anything here related to a "parts is parts" mentality?

Ocean Nutrition 1 seems to have good ingredients, and my fish really like it.

Hey, what about good ole TetraMin? Been around for years, and supposedly has those 40 ingredients. Anyone still use it?

Any thoughts on Brine Shrimp? Frozen, that is... I have some but I think I remember Cliff saying not to feed the babies that cuz the hooks on the shrimp does something to their tummies? I so can not remember what he said on that...

Cliff, if you read this don't smack me! lol!

I know he raises his own brine for his hatchery, I saw that....

My guys love frozen bloodworms, will sometimes nibble on frozen brine shrimp and won't touch frozen mysis. I guess variety is the best scenario to go with.

Oh, I know, you can start hatching brine shrimp too!:antlers: Just kidding!

Ummm, I see no names for the new little additions of the household yet? They have got to have unique personalities so name picking should be easy (yah, I say all this and I have not named my guys either!)
