I knew everyone was just sitting here waiting for some new disease to show up but I figured why not just BS for a while. No new tanks or fish for me either :( . I will be expanding after the holidays (fish room in the garage). Nothing too big but a good start with 5-6 Tanks. Wife said I could start it after xmas :D :D

Yah, I agree that it sure is quiet around here. Which I guess is good; no news is good news? No sick discus, no flooding of tanks. Everyone must be shopping. I lucked out and got mine done, just have to wrap now. But hubby has not as he's still away working. I tried to tell him to go to Vancouver to shop but he wasn't looking forward to the traffic; and he won't of gotten to the malls yet! Gibson's isn't the biggest place to shop; it seems everyone there does the day trip to Vancouver to go gift shopping.

And any fish stuff you acquire before Christmas does not count as a Christmas present! Santa told me that personally.http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_15_1.gif and as you can see, he is taking it off the list, so more presents for ya!

Anyone else got goofy pets? My cat seems to take great joy in retrieving an ornament from the tree and coming and dropping at my feet; I guess he thinks he's a dog! Gotta love him.

I too do my shopping at the last minute .............. its a Christmas tradition .... lol.

But i only have to buy for the wife ...... she does all the rest.

I picked up a 30 gallon to use as a breeder tank and have a line on a real cheap 50 gallon too. I wanna pick up a couple more 30's & some larger grow out tanks too and try to set everything up after the holidays.

I havent been into discus long and want to try my hand at breeding and i never do anything halfa$$ed so i want to get a decent setup to start with.

My wife thinks im nutz and when she saw my christmas list ............. and everything on it was fish related ....... she really thought i was nutz ...... lol.

I gave her a link to get me some sponge filters for my tanks so i guess i'll have to wait till christmas morning to see if i need to order them myself ...... lol. I also asked for the Discus Health Book.

I'll probablly get pajamas and socks again tho ....... lol.

Oh yeah ............ and a copy of Battlefield 2: Special Forces.
Im a big gamer as well.

It has been a bit quiet and i've been lurking but been real busy selling stuff on ebay.
I made $600.00 this past week selling some junk thats been taking up space and im trying to make room for my tanks.

i with ya on the christmas list. Mine was all fish related too, and my wife just laughed at me. Ties and socks for me too i think.

Battlefield is a sweet game. I had it for my xbox, but sold the whole system now to buy an xbox 360, but everyone up here is sold out of them, so i will have to wait until after christmas...I was a huge Halo guy. Been playing some Call of Duty on 360 at my buddies house, sweet game. What system do you play, or are you a PC gamer?

I do have an XBOX but mainly play sports games on that.

I play battlefield 2 on the PC cause i prefer the mouse and keyboard for shooters.

I do however play Ghost recon 2 : Summitt strike on the XBOX.

I couldnt stand Halo ................. i prefer the more realistic shooters.

I too would love a 360 but i'll wait till all the crazys get theirs 1st .............. I'm not about to camp out over night to get one ...... lol.

Plus ..... the games i have for xbox are not yet backwards compatible for the 360.

I got hooked up with a great group of older gamers and we stay in contact with each other and play together in NFL 2K5, MLB 2K5 & other sports leagues. We also hook up on friday nights for a online poker game & saturday nights for some ghost recon Summit Strike.

We even have our own forum to shoot the breeze and share info and post gaming events.

Im infatuated with gaming and now Discus ................ My wife should have me committed .... lol ............. but it keeps me out of the bars so she should'nt complain .... lol. At least thats what i keep telling her ..... lol.

I was a huge barfly when we met and was on the pool leagues & dart leagues and whatever else i could get in during the week. I lived at my nieborhood bar ..... lol. So she should be thankful i can fulfill my gaming & discus addictions at home now.

Hell ......I work from home so i hardly ever even leave the house now!

Hey Kenny,,,,,SORRY ABOUT THAT!!! I didnt mean to scare you like that. Yeah, If my pair (your pair) would do some breeding,,,,that would be a very cool xmas gift (oops gifts!!) All the adults are doing fine and leaving some healthy craps for me to vacuum every other day.
My wife also thinks I am discus nutz. She already told me that I could start a fish room after the holidays (mainly so I would get all my fish stuff out of the house). She also said that maybe she should take back everything she got me and buy me some tanks and PVC. I didnt say anything out loud,,,,,but I was thinking,,,,,,,,AND MAYBE SOME DISCUS TO GO WITH THE TANKS AND PVC???!!! LOL.
All shopping done for the kids but i still have to find some good ideas for the wife.
Hey Kenny,,, How do you keep all your tanks warm without having a huge electricity bill? Doesnt your garage get pretty cold during the winter?? I need to know for my future garage fish room.

I'm sure you are worth it,,,,,video games,,,, discus,,,,sounds like a great life. Nobody understands us! My wife thinks I am nutz about these fish and she dont like when I play video games because,,,,like you,,,,I will sit and play it till I beat it,,,usually 24/7 for about a week or two.

I think my wife just sees me when I pass by my tanks,,,,I usually stop and have a brief conversation and ask my discus (sampson and dalaila) how they are doing and if there water is clean and warm enough. Yeah,,,I'm nutz. I usually talk with romeo and juliet (my breeder pair) and ask them why they havent given me any fry yet. My wife asks me,,,,,who are you talking to in there,,,,,Noone honey,,,,,just talking to myself out loud.
