I hate my fluval canister! I wanted to give the hoses a good clean out. Came apart easy but can't get them to go back tight. I put the black thread onto the hose and push down tight. Then insert the other part, push down and tighten. Of course, the tubing then falls out of the thread!

Am I that dumb? No men here for their mechanical input and I don't want the canister to sit too long not running.

Am I missing something?

Help?!

Barb, not used fluval filters but... sometimes using hot water to soften the ends so they stretch over can help, sorry I can't be more use. Paul.

Barb, What model fluval?
The older ones 203,303,403
you had to screw the nut back down towards the filter.
then the hose could come off or could be put back on.
To tighten, youi screwed the nut back up taowards the hose,
making sure that the hose tucked inside the nut so it would tighten against the part inside the hose.
If it is a newer one 204,304,404,
Sorry I haven't seen those.
Good luck!
Paul.

Thanks, guys, got it done!!!!!!!! Elbow grease was needed for sure. What a hassle to clean, etc.... Sponge filters and HOB seem easier to keep clean which I do have on my discus tank. This fluval is on another tank, community fish.
