Im new to this spawning thing so bear with me.
Tank One..90g planted tank with 9 discus in it.
Older fish are less than a year old. The two that have paired off are a red/white and a red leopard. I dont know for sure, but i think they are about 8-10 months old. They laid eggs on the broad amazon sword leaf. Today is the second day, maybe more as i may not have noticed right away as they are at the back of the tank. Both fish are guarding and fanning the eggs. There are 14 white eggs, and alot more than i want to count brown eggs.
This is there second spawn, wiht the previous spawn getting eaten the first night, not sure by whom.
Tank 2...25 g tall breeder tank with cone. My two turq and yellow pigeons laid eggs last night. Eggs were white almost from the start, and all eaten this afternoon. It was there first spawn in this new tank. They had spawned once in my 90g tank and ate the eggs after 48 hours, they laid them on the heater so they were fried.
The eggs that have survived, what should i expect over the next few days.
I am not expecting success at all, but if they do get to the wiggler stage, what next? Has anyone ever succeeded in breeding in a community tank with other discus?
