here is a pic of my curipera. He does all the shaking but just won't pair up with anyone.
Bob Garside (Upper Canada Discus) has some nice female curiperas.....so i am arranging to send him away for a holiday.

Beleive it or not............he did come from Oliver..............2 years ago. He was the only one left and I got him for $75 (Cdn). I don't think he coloured up for Oliver because he was pretty drab when I saw him. I had him in my tank for about a month and he became a totally new fish. Just fed him beefheart and live blood worms.

Jim,
Looks like a female to me too :D , Coloration is great IMO even though you indicate the picture doesnt do it justice....Im sure Bob will find a suitable mate for your fish and hopefully get the both of you a great wild spawn ;)

Al,
Any luck breeding your Curipera?

I got two spawns last year with my Male with a domestic snakeskin. None survived and Im waiting for them to start up again....They are showing patterns of wanting to, but arent obliging LOL

Best of luck Jim and Bob,
Tad

Hey Jeff,

Nice Curipera you got there. Please let us know if you get a successful spawn.

Jason, I recently got a price list from Oliver and his price on the Curipera has not dropped much. For a large Curipera, they are still running in the $200-250 range.

Regards, Lester

Al, Elcid, Tad.................now you are really pissin me off........lol........I don't know. He could very well be a she. Bob has a tank with about 8 male/females in it. I figure if he/she goes in someone will end up liking him or her. I just thought it was too nice of a fish to try not to breed.
Bob is going to read this and shake his head.:)

Just for your info. The last time I had talked to Oliver he had mentioned that there was not going to be any new curiperas on the market this year because the region is closed (apparently). If he has them on his list they are probably last years.
