What is the biggest discus (Jumbo) ever recorded? Especially it's strain?

Not sure what's the largest ever (probably swimming in a German tank somewhere), but the biggest I've seen are 9-10" alenquers....

There is a guy on DiscusAsAHobby.com who claims to have the biggest in the USA. It's about 8" so I'm sure someone has bigger. It's a nice specimen though.

You hear a lot of people talkin alot of crap about 9" and 10" discus ....But no one is ever willing to put a tape measure on em and prove it.

These are the BIGGEST discus Ive ever seen with a tape measure on them. Search all you want...I dont think you'll find bigger. You'll hear claims...but see no proof.

Last year on another forum, Bruce of Majestic Discus reported actually "seeing" (not just hearing about) a 12 inch, 5 pound discus.

Just reporting the info. Certainly, not believeing it.

I think you are right, Mat, to be doubtful given the source. The biggest discus I have ever seen is around 9"--but even if one did grow to 12" there is no way it could ever be 5 LBS unless it was shaped like a bowling ball!
