I just called my local breeder to find out water parameters. He told me he does adjust ph down to 7.0. My water after aging is 8.0. Would this be stressful on them or should I lower the ph to 7.0?

Juveniles prefer a stable pH. Mine are in 7.8. It is difficult to adjut the pH if you have hard or moderately hard water. I suggest you keep them in pH 8.

You should have no problems as long as you have consistent water parameters..
