Do you have a favorite color, pattern, type of discus? Its obvious that they are all just gorgeous, but I was just curious if you had a favorite :)
Me.. my favorite color is yellow... I'd like to get like a yellow marlboro or something.. I've really only seen it on Liveaquaria (dr foster and smith). Maybe one day I'll get one, but I really love them all and dont exactly have a favorite. They are all so wonderful in their own different ways. Maybe thats why I like them so much, because they are all so different. Even different fish of the same type.

I love leopard, especially spotted eruptions.

Wild blues with a strong red background. My favorite discus was one of these that I got from Al - he grew up to be a huge male and was just stunning. Unfortunately he died after a bad transportation episode.

Too hard to pick a favorite strain.
I would love to have one of each in a 300-gallon tank someday...right after I win the lottery. LOL!

I'm a bit old fashioned in that I prefer fish that at least resemble their wild counterparts.

I love striated fish with deep blue, green, or red colors. I love Cobalts and any wild-type fish. Particularly the red-based browns. I'm still a sucker for a high quality Red Turquoise. :p

I get a bit less enthusiastic typically with pb-based fish. However, there are a few notable exceptions.

The spotted fish are tip top. But unfortunately, there is a ton of crap fish being sold in this group and a truly grade A eruption is far too rare and expensive for my budget. I also question the genetic health of some of these new strains coming out of Asia. I firmly believe that there needs to be some refining of these strains. The quality needs to be improved and the prices need to come down pretty considerably before I'll be willing to invest more in having them in my fishroom.

its just too too difficult...especially when you have a small 55 gallon tank and cant have more than 6 fish...having pairs is definately out if you want an least one each of each variety...i plan to go with one snake skin, one lepord eruption, one wild/brown,one turq, one pb,and one solid coloured fish...sad i cant have more till i get more tanks or bigger tanks...:(

Blue fish, not the pale or icy ones, but a rich vibrant blue! I have 1 red Turq whose colors pop out at me, I love him!

Hmmm, I love that red white spotted fish that Kenny (loverboy) uses as his signature!

I like the red/whites or that type of fish since they are more of a "true" Target store logo red (blueish red) instead of an orangy red. The snowfire has red and white with blue fins :). So that'll be number 1. Working with a pair, fingers crossed :).

I also like that Ocean green fish I got too :).

Errr, that's so Cruel to make us pick just one! LOL! There are a couple of other fish in my tanks that are favorites too. White butterflies are gorgeous too. But again I'd have to go back to my red whites/snowfire LOL.

I next want to purchase 3 completely yellow discus, 3 scarlets and 3 pure white discus. I love to see color in my tanks and every different color. I am becoming more interested in the wild strains also. I have heard hear that it is good to get the wilds bred back into the group for hardiness. Hard to pick one...HHMMMMM......Pure Red scarlet. That vibrant red is awesome.

Mike those scarlets are absolutely stunning. Id pick those. Never been a fan of whites, though the white butterflys have caught my eye of late.
