View Full Version : Why do Discus sometimes Spit-out their food?

Just got three juvies (getting two more in a couple of weeks from the same breader). After one day, two are eating and one is spitting out its food. I am feeding them bloodworms and so was the breader.

Why does this happen? I know sometimes they do this for a day or two and starting eating afterwards. I don't want to stun their growth.

Thanks in advance for the replies.

Sometimes just upset tummy - other times it's caused by intestinal flagellates.

Sometimes they just don't like that type of food you're feeding. For instance, my discus eat bloodworms like there is no tomorrow, but won't touch flakes or color bits =[

Also for example Colour Bits, they like to spit it up to break it up and wet the inside of the food to make it easier to swallow.
