Hi all,
this is probabley a stupid question, but here it goes. How big do discus get when full grown i've read from 6 inches to 10 inches, and how long does this take like 1 year or longer?? I have 6 discus 3 are about 3 to 3.5 inches and the other 3 are 1 to 1.5 inches.does the strain have anything to do with size.My three bigger ones are ,a ocean green, a red and yellow ribbon, and a red rio perus, the small guys are all wattley turg. and blue diamond cross. they are in a 110 gallon tank.wc evrey other day 30 % 0 amonia 0 nitrite 6.5 ph and 5-10 nitrate.when it hits 10 i do wc , can't get it to 0 though tap water has alittle nitrate in it about 5ppm. is this normal?? i've only had discus three weeks so far so good.

thanks
Bill

adult discus are usually around 6 inches from head to base of tail. This size usually takes about 1 year to achieve. The key is multiple feedings and pristine water condition.
