To make an RO water remineralizing mix, these are commonly used: calcium chloride, calcium sulphate, and magnesium sulphate. Where do you buy the first two?
and does anyone use powdered calcium carbonates for mineral mix?

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy equilibrium??

calcium chloride is easily obtainable...its sold at stores like home depot as an ice melting agent...get the pure stuff.. pellet. better still , though probably not any different..
its sold at livestock supply houses like Agway in the USA as a calcium suppliment for cattle ..usually comes as a flake.
store very well..it absorbs moisture and clumps like a rock in a damp fish room:)
Calcium sulphate aka gypsum is also a feed additive for livestock.
I use calcium carbonates in nylon stockings to prevent pH crashes ..not for ro minerals

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy equilibrium?? I have used it, but I added sodium chloride, and it is still very low in calcium and magnesium.
it reads
potassium 18.9%
magnesium 4.3%
calcium 2.7%
iron 0.47%
manganese 0.08%
assuming it contains sulphates and other stuff not mentioned.

Thanks Al.
Time to reduce costs on brand name mixes that seem pretty far from the main chemical compostion of river water in general.
