Hexamita

My fish where doing well excpet I have a cyanobacteira in my thank. Then one stop eating, after nother one and 4 days ago I found another one with white fieces. I put those three in a QT tank and start METRO. They are getting better everyday now. My question is : Can hexamita come back from time to time just like that and just like we get a cold or does it have to come from an already infected fish?

Most discus have the hexamita flaggelate in their intestines all the time, its when they get stressed from something that the flagellate gets the upper hand and they pass intestinal lining.

However if it is very recurrent it could be cryptobia which is very very difficult to treat.
