Amonia test and Prime

I may use prime as a tap water conditionner but when I use my amonia test from nature it just go off the chart. For those who are using Prime what test kit are you using to check for amonia?

I use Aquarium Pharamaceuticals. The conditioner shouldnt affect the test. What is the test CAN do tho, is still show the ammonia level, but not that the toxicity of the ammonia was lowered by adding a chemical to bond it.

Someone word that better for me please??? Again, science and the older mind are not a good match.:)

I generally use the Freshwater Master Test Kit that you can get in any LFS.. but using prime can give you a false ammonia reading.. If am I unsure about the readings I am getting.. I use a test by Seachem called Multi Test Free and Total Ammonia Test which you can get here:
