softer water!!

what do i have to do to get my water softer?



kh=143.2ppm dkh=8
gh=214.8ppm dgh=12
ph=7.6ppm

i just want to know what to do,I'm not trying to breed right now but later when i get my house and if the wife allow it i will!!

buy a Reverse Osmosis filter when you are ready to breed. (they dont need soft water until then)

malaysian driftwood helps and i believe some people use peat?

You need a RO unit, and I'd get a 100 gal per day unit. You will also need a place to store that ro water seperately

so with the r/o i filter the water and stored it in a barrel and just do my w/c with the r/o water.

No. Your water is too hard for those to soften it enough for breeding.

No, you will want to either reconstitute it with RO right, discus essential, and pH buffers, or you'll want to add back some tap water to bring the GH and KH up a bit. Then do your water change with the mix.
