filter add-on

hey...i have a 30g discus tank with a magnum HOT canister on it and i wanna add more filteration to it....i'm gonna take my whisper 40 off my 20g long that has been setup for about 4 weeks as a krib tank(but that plan has failed)
so is there anything that i should do to the filter b4 putting it on my 30g

All depends on why the krib tank failed. Did you put kribs in there and they died?? Were there any fish at all in the 20g??

It depends on your bioload in the tank. Assuming it is within limits, I would add a sponge filter for extra protection. You don't need extra power filtration.

If no fish were ever in the 20gal your filter from it is good to go.
