Hi all,
I have a 50G tank with an internal filter (came with the tank) and an external eheim 2215. I've placed the output of the eheim below the water level to avoid the splashing noise of the water at night. Do you think that the filter's current might be too much for discus?

Thanks for your time.

As long as they have places where there is little current to rest, they will be fine. Some actually like to surf in the output. My discus swim through the filter outputs, get swished around a bit and then they go on with their business. It doesnt seem to bother them one bit. Some actually sit in the stream waiting for the food to be delivered. Face the output up at the surface for good agitation but less noise. You want the surface of the water to move (or break) for gas off and oxygenation.
