Is a PH of 7.8 ok for discus? Also will this prevent them from having healthy young? I have read that they are from soft acidic water. So since this is what my tap is at I am thinking about how it will affect them. It would save me a lot of stress because I wouldn't have to add anything to the tank to alter the ph. But please let my know what impact a higher ph like this will do the discus. My water is not very hard either yet still has a high ph. Thanks

I believe someone in your other thread told you it was ok :)

There are people here that keep and breed their discus at 7.8 and someone else posted they keep theirs at 8.0. Your pH is fine :)

Mine are living in pH of 8.2 and I have been told that is ok.
I know it is hard to believe, but in fact they breathe and eat well, so… I suppose it is, really, ok.

Good luck,
