Are you kidding me... those are amazing. My father had a pet duck when he was a kid names Sammy. He was on the beach with him and a weasel grabbed him though. What kind are they... they arn't native are they?

Hi Tyler,

They are Mallards, and are native. We have a wild pair that use our pool (and the neighbors pools) on an almost daily basis. Since we already have 5 birds in the house, these will, of course, be outside birds! :D

Is it legal? I know it isn't legal in Canada to have a native species as a pet.

LOL Jim!!! Following Tad???? I'm guessing it's gonna be more like CHASING him around the yard! I'm sure to win the big prize on Funniest Home Videos!!! :D

Tyler... they came from domestic stock, so it's legal.

I'm a bit morbid.. first thing came to mind was Peking Duck.. Yumm.. Sorry, It's been close to 6hrs since my last meal.

Those mallards are cute. When I grew up we would raise stray birds too..

Judi, those little duckies are so sweet! Do you have to hand feed them yet?

You canabalistic duck people! Shame on you! Besides, Judi is NOT in China, so they couldn't be Peiking ducks! ha ha

No cooking these guys!! They'll be earning their keep with snail control in the yard! Hopefully, when they are grown, all the neighborhood cats will find another yard to use as a litter box!

Bubbles... no hand feeding necessary, but I'll be doing some just for bonding purposes.

Judi, very cute :).

No wonder Tad plays golf often. To keep himself away from the birds and ducks :D.

Ronny

Oh man, Shannon is obsessed with ducks. She will completely freak out when I show her those pics.

Let me know how they are as pets. We'll probably have some of our own one of these days. :undecided:
