I have noticed on some of my discus a very dark almost blackt tint on the tips of the fins. Just wondering if anyone has niticed this ever on theirs. Thanks

Sure, two of mine have that coloring - my Red Melon and my Golden Pidgeon.

Wasn't sure if was something bad because others in my tank don't have that. I do have a few with some slightly tattered fins but thats just do to your typical daily aggression caused by slight nipping here and there. From time to time I add Melafix to help any damamge caused by nipping.

Its probably nothing bad at all. In my case, it is just the coloring of the Discus fins, as I'm sure it it with yours.

Hi phalough - I agree with poconogal. You'll usually see those black tints on discus that are pb-based...like most of the more colorful strains(e.g: yellow, red, etc...)

Even these yellows have a very tiny bit of "grey" tints.
