HI Everyone!
Sorry I haven't been around much lately.
Been busy with da Art, arranging shows and what not.
All my Discus are fine.
On the other hand, my Angelfish decided they just couldn't keep their little fins off one another and, yup, you know it...made babies.
So here are some pictures in sequence, from eggs on the filter intake valve to free two week old free swimming fry. And of course the proud parents...didn't they realize I am just too busy for this????
Well, this is my first time at it...guess it will be good practice if and when the discus do it...course I may not let them ever do it...this is just too much added work for me at the moment.
I was just able to move the surviving fry into the 12 gallon bare bottom tank yesterday that I ended placing the parents and other angels in for the last two weeks...so it was the big switch-a-rue putting the adults back in the 25 gallon and the fry into the 12 gallon...what the heck was thinking???

Picture below: the Parents, Mom:Platinum Blond and Dad:Silver Vail, guarding eggs...they were very good parents up till the eggs hatching...

Frank,
I have always been here...just too darn busy to Post anything...I know, I know, it take's 30 sec. to post something, anything...even if it's mindless. And I'm good at mindless :p

Any way, the fry are in their second week of free swimming, they will be 3 weeks old on Tuesday.
Their vertical fins are starting to grow, so they will begin looking more like angelfish soon.

I need a vacation already....maybe I should just go to Fire Island tonite, get drunk, walk off a board walk (did that 5 yrs ago...och) get into some trouble and crash at a friends place....some body talk me out of that!!!!

your angels are very nice but they looks more like a silver ghost and a gold pearlscale to me.
Very nice anyway

the male might be a silver ghost, I don't remember exsactly what it was called...I can assure you, the female is not a pearlscale.
Here's a better picture of her:

The male does appear to be a silver ghost veil, but "platinum blonde" is a fancy name for a gold angelfish. So I would say Silver Ghost veil x Gold standard fin.

Make sure you do LOTS of water changes on the fry. Water quality is crucial to development, I've found that out the hard way a few times.

One more:

You think?
They are kinda of translucent if you saw them in real life.
But still you can tell which ones are going to be blond/gold like Mom and which ones will look more like Dad.
One actually looks more black then anything else, a few few seem to have traits of both parents.

Watching them grow (Discus or Angels) is probably the real fun part.
