Hi all,

I noticed that 2 or 3 of my discus had mild swelling of mouth.

I have 6 4-5" of discus in a 90g BB tank (the tank was set up about 3-4 days ago). Before they were going to the new tank, actually I first noticed that one of my discus had swelling of mouth and at that time I just keep W/C 30-50% daily.

Can somebody here give your expert advice please?

Thank you

Dennis

Sorry, no expert advice here, but if your fish have been fighting alot it can lead to their lips getting swollen. They may need some time apart or a divider to give them a chance to heal.

I recall reading somewhere that swelling of lips might be a sign of columnaris infections . . . don't know if it is true or not,

Hi,

Thanks for your replies. Please go to the link http://community.webshots.com/photo/552104378/2054705940035897098QCwvWS for the pic of sick discus and notice it's head and mouth.

My Discus would have been suffering from stress as they were moved to a new 90g tank 3 days ago and some of them did suddenly become panic at times that might have knocked themselves on the glass or wood in the tank.
